BJP celebrates first anniversary of Article 370 abrogation in Kashmir as three workers resign

Srinagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Kashmir wing on Tuesday celebrated the first anniversary of Article 370 Abrogation in Kashmir. BJP party workers and leaders from Kashmir were seen unfurling the tricolour and dancing to celebrate one year anniversary of the revocation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir

Surrounded by CRPF troops and vehicles around, BJP worker from Anantnag, Rumisaya Rafiq unfurled the Indian national flag at Anantnag’s lalchowk area to celebrate the Abrogation anniversary.

“The abrogation of Article 370 has paved way for development of education and created avenues for employement in Kashmir,” she said, terming August 5 as an important day in the history of Kashmir.

BJP leaders and workers in Srinagar too unfurled the Indian flag at the party office in Jawaharnagar and distributed sweets.

“We are celebrating the completion of one year of abrogation of Article 370 (provisions) and the positive changes that it brought in Jammu and Kashmir,” BJP leader Altaf Thakur told the press at the party office.

Besides Srinagar and Anantnag, BJP members were seen celebrating the anniversary in Ganderbal, Kupwara and Bandipora as well.

Meanwhile, three BJP workers announced their resignation from the party before public in Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Three party workers, who announced their resignation from BJP from Qazigund include Subzar Ahmad Paddar son of Abdul Satar Paddar, who was a vice President Devsar constituency, Nisar Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Gani Wani of Hakradan, who is Warpora-Kund constituency President and Ashiq Hussain Palla son of Mohammad Abdullah Palla of Warpora Kund.

Talking to the news agency Kashmir News Observer, the trio said, “we are laborers and have no time to carry out activities of BJP. From today, we have nothing to do with BJP and if some has got hurt by us intentionally or unintentionally, they should forgive us.”
