With 52,509 fresh cases, India’s COVID tally crosses 19 lakh mark

Srinagar: With fresh 52,509 COVID cases and 857 deaths in India, during last 24 hours, the country’s tally has crossed 19-lakh mark (19,08,255), including 5,86,244 patients who are undergoing treatment for the deadly virus.

According to the Health Ministry reports, 12, 82,216 patients have recovered and the numbers of the fatalities have reached 39,795.

On Wednesday, India witnessed the seventh consecutive in which COVID cases increased by more than 50,000.

Pertinently, former Maharashtra chief minister and senior Congress leader Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar passed away early this morning. According to reports Nilangekar  had recently recovered from the novel coronavirus.

Meanwhile, global coronavirus cases rose to 18,466,594 today, with as many as 699,134 fatalities. At least 11,058,317 people have recovered from the disease so far.
