COVID: Armed forces personnel among 3 dead in JK, toll reaches 437

Srinagar: With the death of three more patients including an armed forces personnel due to COVID in Jammu and Kashmir, the death toll has mounted to 437.

Reports said that three patients who died include a 50-year-old CRPF personnel of 43 Battalion, a 65-year-old male from Rusoo Budgam and a 42-year-old male from Patoli Jammu.

With three more deaths, the death toll due to the deadly disease in JK has reached 437 including 405 from Kashmir division and 32 from Jammu division.

On Wednesday, 559 new COVID infections were reported in the erstwhile state in the last 24 hours, thus taking the total number of cases in JK to 22,955.

Moreover, 388 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals- 91 from Jammu and 297 from Kashmir.

In India, with another spike in COVID infections, the country witnessed 56,282 new cases, pushing the country’s tally to 19,64,536.

According to a report by the Health Ministry of India, there are 5,95,501 active cases in the country and 13,28,336 patients have been discharged.

The number of fatalities has reached 40,699 after 904 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
