With worst-ever spike of 62,538 fresh infections, India’s COVID tally crosses 2-million mark

Srinagar: With the worst-ever spike of 62,538 COVID cases in a single day, India’s tally of total coronavirus infections has crossed the 2-million mark (20, 25,409) and the death toll has mounted to 41,627.

According to the Health Ministry of India, Maharashtra has recorded its highest single-day spike of 11,514 cases and its tally now stands at 4,79,779.

The cases in Andhra Pradesh are closer to the 2,00,000 mark, with over 10,000 fresh infections recorded on the second consecutive day.
