Srinagar: A militant has been killed in an ongoing gunfight with armed forces personnel in Saloosa area of Kreeri, in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

According to police, one unidentified militant has been killed so far in the gunfight and firing from both the sides is going on.
Pertinently, this is the second gunfight in Baramulla district this week. Earlier, two militants, two army personnel, two CRPF personnel and SPO of JK police were killed in the gunfight at Kreeri.
Regarding today’s gunfight, official sources said that following the specific information, a joint team of Police, Army’s 52RR and 176BN of CRPF launched a cordon and search Operation in the Saloosa, Kreeri.
As the joint team of armed forces personnel approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them ensuing a gunfight.
