704 fresh infections take JK’s COVID tally to 34,480, recoveries at 26,193

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Wednesday informed that 704 fresh COVID cases have mounted the JK’s tally to 34,480. Also 19 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 04 from Jammu division and 15 from Kashmir Division.

Moreover, 599 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 126 from Jammu and 473 from Kashmir.

According to the daily bulletin on out of 34480 positive cases, 7630 are Active Positive, 26193 have recovered and 657 have died; 54 in Jammu division and 603 in Kashmir division.

The bulletin further said that out of 902677 test results available, 868197 samples have been tested as negative till August 26, 2020.

Till date, 4,45,720 travellers, and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 43764 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7630 in isolation and 44146 under home surveillance. Besides, 349523 persons have completed their surveillance period.

The administration also said that it has evacuated about 3,55,850 JK residents, stranded in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur  and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.

As per the official data received in this regard, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has received 126 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 108,693 passengers while about 2,47,157 persons from other states and UTs including 928 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date.

As per the detailed breakup of the figures, about 2359 stranded passengers have entered through Lakhanpur from August 25 to August 26 mornings while 1110 passengers have reached today in the 105th Delhi COVID special train at Jammu. So far, 105 trains have reached Jammu with a total of 92,997 stranded passengers belonging to different districts while 15,696 passengers have reached Udhampur in 21 special trains, so far.
