JK reports 535 fresh COVID cases, 29,015 recovered so far

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday informed that 535 new positive cases of novel Corona virus were reported in the last 24 hours in JK, thus taking the total number of cases to 37,698.

The erstwhile state also reported 9 COVID deaths, 03 from Jammu division and 06 from Kashmir.

Moreover, 505 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 110 from Jammu Division and 395 from Kashmir.

According to the daily media bulletin, out of 37698 positive cases, 7980 are Active Positive, 29015 have recovered and 703 have died; 66 in Jammu division and 637 in Kashmir.

The bulletin further said that out of 966412 test results available, 928714 samples have been tested as negative till August 31, 2020.

Till date, 461461 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 45562 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7980 in isolation and 45170 under home surveillance. Besides, 362046 persons have completed their surveillance period.

The administration has also evacuated about 3,75,731 JK residents, stranded in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur  and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.

As per the official data received in this regard, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has received 131 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 1,13,936 passengers while about 2,61,795 persons from other states and UTs including 929 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date.

As per the detailed breakup of the figures, about 2767 stranded passengers have entered through Lakhanpur from August 30 to August 31 mornings while 925 passengers have reached today in the 110th Delhi COVID special train at Jammu. So far, 110 trains have reached Jammu with a total of 98,240 stranded passengers belonging to different districts while 15,696 passengers have reached Udhampur in 21 special trains, so far.
