Court issues summon to Spicejet for selling tickets at ‘inflated prices, being non-cooperative’ in investigation

Srinagar: A court in Srinagar issued summon to an Indian airline SpiceJet headquartered in Gurgaon and Haryana, for being non-cooperative in investigation regarding a case pertaining to the sale of tickets at inflated prices.

Official sources said that the court of chief judicial magistrate Srinagar has issued the summons against Satyaajit Mohapatra , sales head SpiceJet North sector.

The Case (FIR no. 03/2020, u/s 420,468,471,409,120-B IPC) registered in Crime Branch Kashmir pertains to the sale of tickets at inflated prices to customers through travel agents. In league with airlines staff, the case relates to creating an artificial scarcity of tickets.

In this regard, the court has directed the sales manager to produce the relevant data within a span of 15 days failing which a warrant against him will be issued. It has been learnt from reliable sources that Spicejet was not co-operating with the investigation process.
