2 accused of gang-raping 13-yr-old child escape from prison in MP

Two of the three accused who were arrested by the police on charges of gang-raping a minor girl in Madhya Pradesh state of India on Monday, have escaped from Biplank Police Station in state’s Ratlam district.

Quoting police officials, a report by Hindustan Times, said that three accused identified as Kalu Singh, Deepak Singh and Ravi Singh, all residents of Gurjarpada village, were arrested on Monday for abducting and gang-raping a 13-year-old from another village and killing her by drowning. The body of the victim, according to reports, was later spotted in a field.

“They were arrested after the villagers suspected involvement of four villagers in the crime who used to create nuisance in the village in an intoxicated state and one of them on Saturday night tried to mislead villagers when they were searching for the girl saying that she was abducted by some people in a car,” the report quoted district’s superintendent of police, Gaurav Tiwari, as having said.

Quoting police statement, the report mentioned that three of the four accused were arrested who later confessed that they abducted the girl on her way when she had gone out to buy groceries from a shop. The trio also admitted that they raped and then killed the minor girl.

The three accused persons, according to reports, were also produced before the court and it has ordered a police remand of three days.

As manhunt has begun in this regard, police has announced a reward of 10,000 for giving information about the whereabouts of the missing men.
