COVID claims 11 more lives in JK, toll reaches 819

Srinagar: The novel Coronavirus on Tuesday claimed 11 more lives in Jammu and Kashmir, thus taking the toll of deaths in JK to 819.

The fresh eleven patients who died today include a 55-year-old man from Awoora Kupwara, a 70-year-old woman from Tengpora Srinagar, a 75-year-old woman from Shivpora Srinagar, a 36-year-old man from Vailoo Kokernag, a 72-year-old woman from Kiloora Shopian, a 71-year-old man from Jammu, a 60 and 62-year-old male patients from Doda, an 85-year-old man from Darhal Rajouri, a 75-year-old woman from Thanamandi Pangai and a 41-year-old man from Rajouri.

An official from SMHS said that a patient from Awoora Kupwara who was admitted on September 4 with diabetes, hypertension, Chronic Kidney Disease and bilateral Pneumonia and a patient from Tengpora Srinagar admitted on 24 August died on Tuesday.

An official from SKIMS Soura said that a patient from Shivpora who was admitted on 25 August and a patient from Vailoo Kokernag who was admitted on 20 August died on Tuesday.

An official from Shopian said that an elderly patient from Kiloora Shopian who was very ill died on Monday.

An official from Jammu division said that a patient from Jammu City, two male patients from Baderwah area of Doda district, a patient from Darhal Rajouri, a patient from Thanamandi Pangai Rajouri and another postal employee from Rajouri died in different hospitals in last 24 hours.

With 11 more deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 819 including 706 from Kashmir division and 113 from Jammu division.
