Srinagar: Amid the escalating tensions between Indian and China at Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, China has deployed three more battalions of its troops near the LAC.
China, according to a report by a Delhi based news organisation ZeeNews, had deployed three battalions including a battalion of the PLA Ground Force near Rechin La at LAC and deployed two battalions near the Spangur lake, on September 1, 2020. All of these are part of the 62 Combined Arms Brigade present at Shikwan.
On September 7, India armed forces personnel claimed that they have foiled an incursion of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) into Mukhri area of Chushul; however, cautioned that more such actions are expected from China in the coming days.
Earlier on August 30, India claimed that it has succeeded in capturing Rechin La and Rezang La, from where the troops can keep an eye on Moldo Cantonment of China. Indian troops have also claimed that PLA troops are now looking for opportunities to re-occupy these peaks of strategic importance.
In Ladakh, the report said China has deployed two motorized divisions and 4th motorized division is deployed in front of Chushul and the 6th motorized division is present from the west side of Pangong to Daulat Beg Oldi.
The report added that battalions of tanks of 4 motorized divisions have taken up positions around the Spangur Gap.
Suspecting a major attack, the report said that Indian army has also deployed its tanks and armoured vehicles all around the LAC and there are chances of aggression by the PLA troops.
