Two armed forces personnel injured in suspected militants attack in Anantnag

Srinagar: An armed forces personnel was injured on Wednesday evening after suspected militants lobbed a grenade on armed forces personnel in Lal chowk area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Official sources said that militants lobbed a grenade on a party of armed forces personnel belonging to CRPF’s 40 battalion in Lal Chowk area of Anantnag, resulting in injuries to two personnel.

Soon after the incident, both were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, the official said, adding that the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.

The two injured personnel have been identified as Chander Pal and Suneel Kumar of 40 battalion.

Meanwhile, another official said that both the injured armed forces personnel are stable and will be discharged from the GMC Anantnag soon.

He said that a joint team of armed forces personnel have launched a massive cordon and search operation in the area to nab the attackers.
