COVID claims 13 more lives in JK, toll reaches 849

Srinagar: With fresh 13 COVID deaths reported in Jammu and Kashmir , the total number of deaths in JK due to the Coronavirus has mounted to 849.

Official sources said that 13 patients who died include a 56-year-old man from Lolab Kupwara, a 70-year-old woman from Batamallo, a 45-year-old man from Fakir Gujri Harwan, a 66-year-old man from Humhama Budgam, a 50-year-old man woman from Uri Baramulla, a 55-year-old male from Bahu Fort, an 80-year-old man from Ustad Mohalla Jammu, a 38-year-old male from Bari Brahmama, a 61-year-old man from Doda, a 70-year-old woman from Bagga Mohore Reasi, a 60-year-old man from Rajouri town and a 33-year-old man from Thandikassi Rajouri.

An official from SKIMS Soura said that a patient from Lolab Kupwara who was admitted on September 1, and a patient from Uri Baramulla who also was admitted on the same date with hypertension, hypothyroid, Pneumonia and other ailments died on Thursday.

An official from SMHS said that a patient from Batamallo who was admitted a few days before, a patient from Fakir Gujri Harwan who was admitted on September 03, and a patient from Humhama Budgam who was admitted on September 06, died on Thursday.

An official from Jammu division said that two patients from Jammu including one from Bahu Fort and other from Ustad Mohalla Jammu, two patients from Samba including one from Bari Brahmama, two patients from Rajouri including an elderly noted trader from Rajouri town, a male patient from Doda and a female patient from Mahore Reasi died on Thursday.

He added that a young man from Thandikassi Rajouri died a few days ago and was tested positive posthumously.

With 13 more deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 849 including 131 from Jammu division and 718 from Kashmir division.
