Srinagar: Police on Sunday arrested a youth from Tral area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir, who had purportedly posted photograph on the social media holding weapon and announced that he has joined the militant ranks.
The youth identified as 21-year-old Shazada Suvaid, son of Manzoor Ahmed Shah, a resident of Batagund Tral was arrested by a police party from Tral Police Station at Devar Tral.
Suvaid had gone missing on September 19, and on the same day, his photograph had gone viral on social media. In the photograph, he was purportedly carrying a weapon.
A police official told a local news agency KNT that Shazada Suvaid was arrested without the weapon. He said the matter is under investigation and the youth is being questioned.
