‘Murder case solved’, 2 Al-Badr militants arrested in Sopore, says Police

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have solved a murder case after it arrested two Al-Badr militants in this regard.

In a statement, the police said that Sopore Police along with 22 RR and CRPF arrested two uncategorised militants of Al-Badr outfit namely Zahid Farooq Sheikh, son of Farooq Ahmad, a Sheikh resident of Idipora Bomai and Shareef-u-din Ahanger, son of Ghulam Muhammad Ahanger, a resident of Idipora Bomai.

They along with militant Gani Khawaja (Commander Al- Badr) who is at large were “involved in the killing of Danish Manzoor Najar @ Ishfaq Ahmad, son of Manzoor Ahmad Najar, a resident of Idipora Bomai”. Huge quantity of Arms and Ammunition recovered from them.

The statement further adds that a Case FIR No 38/2020 dated 6-JUNE-2020 of Police Station Bomie already stands registered and further investigation is in progress in the said case.
