Hours after militants kill armed forces personnel in Chadoora, police pick 4 locals including Sarpanch for ‘questioning’

Srinagar: Hours after an armed forces personnel was killed in a militant attack in Keisarmulla area of Chadoora in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday, Jammu and Kashmir police, have picked four persons including a Sarpanch for “questioning” regarding the incident.

Official sources said that four persons identified as Aijaz Ahmad Chopan Sarpanch Halqa Brari Gund, Chadoora , son of Abdul Salam Chopan, his brother Arif Ahmad Chopan, Khursheed Ahmad Sheikh, son of late Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, a resident of Wadipora Budgam and Ali Mohd Sheikh, son of Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, a resident of Wadipora Budgam, were picked following the incident and are being questioned by the police.

Officials added that four persons including Sarpanch were picked in connection with the attack and will be released soon.

Earlier in the morning, militants attacked 117 BN of CRPF party in Keisarmulla, injuring one ASI of CRPF identified as NU Badole. Before escaping from the spot, militants also managed to snatch AK-47 rifle and magazine from the ASI.

Soon after the attack, the injured officer was shifted to 92 base hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
