Pulwama: One militant was killed in a military operation by armed forces against militants in the Machoma Tral area of South Kashmir’s Awantipora on Thursday.
Officials said that one militant has been killed and the operation is still underway.
The slain militant has been identified as Irfan-ul-Haq, a resident of Gadikhal Charsoo Awantipora. He was active from last one month and affiliated with Al-badr outfit.
As per reports a joint team of Police and Army’s 42 RR had launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Machoma Tral.
“As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, ensuing the operation,” an official said.
