876 new COVID cases take JK’s tally to 79,106, deaths at 1,242

Srinagar: With the fresh 878 COVID cases reported from Jammu and Kashmir, the toll in the erstwhile state has mounted to 79,106.

In the last 24 hours, JK also reported 11 COVID related deaths- 06 from Jammu division and 05 from Kashmir.

Moreover, 1,053 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 525 from Jammu Division and 528 from Kashmir.

According to the daily bulletin, out of 79,106 positive cases, 15460 are Active Positive, 62404 have recovered and 1,242 have died; 382 in Jammu division and 860 in Kashmir division.

The bulletin further said that out of 1707503 test results available, 1628397 samples have been tested as negative till October 04, 2020.

Till date, 591771 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 22258 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 15460 in isolation and 48301under home surveillance. Besides, 504510 persons have completed their surveillance period.

According to the bulletin, of the total 79,106 positive cases, 8924 have been reported as travellers while 70182 as others.

The bulletin has informed that the best way to protect themselves from COVID is by maintaining a physical distance of at least 2 meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene.
