621 COVID cases reported in 24 hours take JK’s tally to 81,097, deaths at 1,282

Srinagar: In the last 24 hours, Jammu and Kashmir witnessed fourteen COVID deaths taking the death toll due to pandemic to 1,282 while as 621 fresh cases tested positive for the deadly virus pushing the JK’s tally to 81,097.

Of the total 81,097 cases, 48,588 are from Kashmir and 32,509 from Jammu division.

Officials said that among the fresh 621 cases, 361 belong to Kashmir division while as 260 are from Jammu adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 48,588 including 41,553 recoveries and 880 deaths while as a total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 32,509 including 26,131 recoveries and 402 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 12,131 including 6,155 from Kashmir division and 5,976 from Jammu division.

With 2,188 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 67,684  which is 83.46 per cent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in JK include 143 from Srinagar, 51 from Budgam, 50 from Baramulla, 25 from Pulwama, 18 from Kupwara, 20 from Anantnag, 15 from Bandipora, 22 from Ganderbal, 05 from Kulgam and 12 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 260 from Jammu division include 83 from Jammu, 36 from Rajouri, 10 from Udhampur, 24 from Doda, 10 from Kuthua, 14 from Poonch, 22 from Samba, 10 from Ramban, 21 from Kishtiwar, and 30 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, 14 persons who were tested positive for COVID have died which include seven from Kashmir division and seven from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include three from Srinagar, two from Pulwama and one each from Baramulla and Kupwara in Kashmir division while as seven from Jammu division include three from Jammu district, two from Rajouri and one each from Doda and Samba

According to the bulletin, 518,566 persons have completed surveillance period and 48,308 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,761,792 samples are available.

Out of 1,761,792the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,680,695 while 81,097  have tested positive, among them 12,131 are active, 67,684 persons have recovered and 1,282  persons have died.
