Week after JK Guv promises help to militants for ‘shunning violence’, Ravinder Raina says bullet is only policy for them

Srinagar: A week after the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha appealed the local militants to “shun the path of violence and promised to help them with jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities”, the BJP president for JK unit, Ravinder Raina has said that “there can never be any rehabilitation policy for the militants” and that “they will be paid back in the same coin.”

A militant is a militant. This Pakistan-sponsored militancy has bled Jammu and Kashmir for the past 30 years. They (militants) go to Pakistan for arms training, come back with arms and ammunition and then kill innocent people and armed forces personnel. They can never be given any jobs. The only policy for them is a bullet, Raina said.

“Our jawans of army, police and paramilitary forces are combating them 24×7. These militants are getting killed. Under PM Modi’s government there can never be any rehabilitation for militants in this country,” Raina was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying. “Whosoever picks up a gun against the nation will be eliminated,” he added.

Reacting to the protests that were witnessed in Srinagar over the alleged favouritism in selecting the aspirants for Fire and Emergency Services, Raina said that the list has several “irregularities and was discriminatory”.

“I have brought the matter to the notice of the LG and urged him to quash this list and conduct the recruitment process afresh. Graduate and post-graduates have been excluded while 8th and 10th pass candidates have been selected. There is strong resentment among the youth of Kashmir as well. It is a big scam and a probe should be ordered,” HT report quoted Raina as having said.

Raina said that if the list was not revoked then BJP will approach the court of law for an interim stay on it and then get it quashed.

Earlier on October 2, Governor Sinha said that International Day of Non-Violence is an opportunity for the people of India to reflect upon his commitment to the principle of non-violence and I urge the misguided youth to shun violence and return to the mainstream.

The government is ready to help all with Jobs and Entrepreneurial opportunities” remarked Sinha while launching the JK administration’s Back to Village-3 programme from Shirmal, Shopian.

Sinha added that the people of JK, especially the Youth wants to tread the path of progress and development and the government is committed to making JK a role model of development and prosperity.
