Four doctors among 636 COVID cases reported in 24 hours in JK, tally reaches 82,429

Srinagar: Twenty armed forces personnel and four doctors were among 636 new novel coronavirus cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir in last 24 hours, taking the total count to 82,429, officials said on Friday.

They said, 263 of the new cases have been reported from Jammu and 373 from Kashmir valley.

Giving the district-wise details, officials said that Srinagar reported 167 cases, Budgam 38 cases, Baramulla 50, Pulwama 23, Kupwara 14, Anantnag 26, Bandipora 17, Ganderbal 25, Kulgam 7, Shopian 6, Jammu 101, Rajouri 31, Udhampur 26, Doda 7, Kathua 22, Poonch 10, Samba 26, Ramban 8, Kishtwar 15 and Reasi 17.

Moreover, they said, 959 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals— 546 from Jammu division and 413 from Kashmir Valley.

JK administration also said that it evacuated about 5,74,891 JK residents, stranded in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.

As per the official data received in this regard, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has received 155 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 1,40,292 passengers while about 4,34,599 persons from other states and UTs including 934 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date.

As per the detailed breakup of the figures, about 5480 stranded passengers have entered through Lakhanpur from October 08 to October 09 mornings while 134 trains have reached Jammu with a total of 124,596 stranded passengers belonging to different districts so far while 15,696 passengers have reached Udhampur in 21 special trains, so far. Also, no train arrived at Jammu today.
