635 infections reported in 24 hours take JK’s COVID toll to 83,064

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Saturday informed that 635 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus were detected in the last 24 hours thus taking the toll count to 83,064.

JK also reported 7 COVID deaths, 03 from Jammu division and 04 from Kashmir.

Moreover, 976 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 509 from Jammu division and 467 from Kashmir division.

According to the daily bulletin, out of 83064 positive cases, 10796  are Active Positive, 70955 have recovered and 1313 have died; 424 in Jammu division and 889 in Kashmir division.

The bulletin further said that out of 1818753 test results available, 1735689 samples have been tested as negative till October 10, 2020.

Till date, 611888 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 25347 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 10796 in isolation and 48356 in home surveillance. Besides, 526076 persons have completed their surveillance period.

The administration said that it evacuated about 5,80,560 JK residents, stranded in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.

As per the official data received in this regard, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has received 155 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 1,40,292 passengers while about 4,40,268 persons from other states and UTs including 937 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date.

As per the detailed breakup of the figures, about 5669 stranded passengers including 03 from Nepal have entered through Lakhanpur from October 09 to October 10 mornings while 134 trains have reached Jammu with a total of 124,596 stranded passengers belonging to different districts so far while 15,696 passengers have reached Udhampur in 21 special trains, so far. Also, no train arrived at Jammu today.
