Gupkar declaration: JK political parties to meet at Farooq Abdullah’s residence tomorrow

Srinagar: The signatories of the Gupkar declaration have decided to meet on Thursday afternoon to discuss future strategy in Srinagar.

The signatories of the declaration will meet tomorrow afternoon at the residence of former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Dr Abdullah.

This will be the third joint meeting of political parties who are officially the part of Gupkar declaration.  The signatories are National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party, People’s Conference, Congress and other parties.

It is worthwhile to mention that BJP and Altaf Bukhari led Apni Party are opposing the Gupkar declaration.

Meanwhile, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and vice president of National Conference, said that he along with his father Dr Farooq Abdullah have met PDP president and former JK CM Mehbooba Mufti this afternoon at her residence as she was released from 12 month-long detention on October 13, 2020.

“My father & I called on @MehboobaMufti Sahiba this afternoon to enquire about her well-being after her release from detention. She has kindly accepted Farooq Sb’s invitation to join a meeting of the Gupkar Declaration signatories tomorrow afternoon,” Omar wrote.
