The group has registered a toll-free helpline where the needy can avail free tele-consultation
Srinagar: As Jammu and Kashmir continues to witness the highest number of COVID cases on a daily basis, a Kashmir based non-governmental organisation has begun providing medical attention to people battling health issues.
Under the banner of Kashmir Healthcare Support Group (KHCSG), the non-profit organisation Ehsas Trust International has started the telecommunication service in order to serve the people during COVID outbreak that has already claimed more than one thousand lives in JK.
According to the organisation, the free telel consultation being given to the people of Kashmir provides medical advice, awareness and e-prescription without stepping outside the houses and visiting hospitals.
In this regard, one of the members of the non-profit organisation said that “Patients will need to go to hospitals only in case of a procedure but not for OPD based treatment”.
“The patients have to dial 1800-889-2729, which is s toll-free number and get the consultation. The service remains active round the clock and patients are being attended by the doctors from different time zones,” they said.
Doctors based in Jammu and Kashmir provide consultation to patients from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, doctors from Saudi Arabia from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, doctors from the United Kingdom from 10:00 pm to 2:00 am and USA based doctors provide consultation from 2:00 am to 8:00 am.
The member said that services like Endocrinology, Nephrology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Cardiology are available and consultants from Kashmir and other places provide their time and space to serve humanity.
