PLA soldier captured with military documents in Ladakh’s Demchok, says Indian Army

Ladakh: Indian army on Monday claimed to have arrested Chinese armed forces personnel near Demchok area in Ladakh.

Quoting sources, a report by India Today said that the personnel of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was carrying civil and military documents when he was captured in Ladakh.

The Chinese armed forces personnel is a Corporal-rank officer and a resident of Shangxizhen town of central Zhejiang province, China. He was immediately taken into the custody and investigations in the regard have been taken up.

“The PLA personnel was caught carrying civil and military documents. The agencies are investigating if the Chinese armed forces personnel was on an espionage mission”, the report quoted officials as having said.

Quoting sources, the report said that the personnel of China’s PLA will be returned to China as per established protocol and after the due procedure.
