6-year-old gang-raped in Uttar Pradesh, lungs removed for ‘black magic’

‘Believing that black magic will help a woman give birth to a child’

Uttar Pradesh: In yet another barbaric incident in Uttar Pradesh, a six-year-old girl was gang-raped and killed in a forested area in state’s Kanpur district, post which her lungs were reportedly carved out of her body by the rapists.

Quoting police officials, a report by Mumbai Mirror, said that her lungs were removed to perform black magic, believing that it would have helped another woman give birth.

The minor had gone missing on the night of Diwali from the Ghatampur area of Kanpur. The killers, identified as Ankul Kuril (20) and Beeran (31) had delivered the lungs to one named Parshuram Kuril to perform the “black magic” rituals.

On Sunday, the report said, duo was arrested and subsequently Parshuram and his wife were arrested next day.

Parshuram had initially attempted misguiding the police but later confessed to his crime after an episode of intense interrogation.

During the questioning, Parshuram confessed that after his marriage to his wife in 1999, she could not conceive. He then asked his friend Beeran and his nephew Ankul to bring him the six year old’s lungs.

The duo kidnapped the girl when she went to buy firecrackers on Saturday afternoon. Both of them were heavily drunk and had raped the girl before carving her lungs out, the report quoted officials as saying.

The accused have been charged with the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.

Meanwhile, the UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has offered a financial aid of Rs 5 lakh to the victim’s family. The case has been moved to a fast-track court so that the accused can be punished at the earliest.
