Journalist Mudasir Ali passes away

Srinagar: Prominent journalist and senior editor of Greater Kashmir Mudasir Ali died of a sudden cardiac arrest on Friday morning.

Reports said that Ali complained of chest pain on Thursday night and succumbed before he could be moved to a hospital.

His brother Jehangir Ali broke the news on Facebook and wrote, “My brother Mudasir Ali has left this material world”, sending shock waves among his colleagues and the journalist fraternity.

The 37 year old journalist is a resident of Charar-e-Shareef area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district. Besides working for Greater Kashmir, Ali was also contributing to various national and international news organisation.

 

Nimaz-e-Jinazah of the deceased journalist was offered at 10:30 at Khanka Charar Shareef and thousands of the mourners attend his funeral procession.

Earlier on October 1, a senior correspondent of Srinagar based English daily Rising Kashmir also died of heart attack in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The journalist Javid Ahmad died after he suffered a massive heart attack near Pattan while travelling in a passenger vehicle towards Srinagar.
