Weather to improve from tomorrow, says MeT

Srinagar: The meteorological department on Wednesday said that weather in Jammu and Kashmir will improve from tomorrow.

“Weather is likely to improve in Jammu and Kashmir from Thursday, November 25, 2020. We are expecting dry weather till December 3,” an Met official said.

“People, especially those living in snowbound areas are asked to remain cautious of any possible avalanche as there is already lots of snow accumulation on hills,” he said.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of 0.6 while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of 2.2 degrees Celsius.

Ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir, which experienced heavy snowfall on various occasions, was the coldest place in Kashmir with a low of minus 5.0 degrees Celsius.

Hill resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a minimum of 0.3 degrees Celsius.

Kokernag town recorded a low of 1.1 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of 0.5 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 13.3 degrees Celsius, Katra town 11.7, Batote 3.7, Banihal 3.8 and Bhaderwah 3.4 degrees as the minimum temperatures.
