Civilian injured in cross LoC shelling in JK’s Poonch district

Poonch: A civilian was injured after the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged gunfire and shells along Line of Control in Kirni village of Poonch district, officials said on Thursday.

They said at about 1330 hours, Pakistan Army initiated “unprovoked ceasefire violation” by firing small arms and mortar shells along LoC in Qasba and Kirni sectors in the Poonch and Indian army retaliated “befittingly”.

In the incident, A civilian identified as Mohammad Rashid, son of Najab Din was injured. Quoting SHO Poonch S D Singh, news agency GNS reported that Din received injuries and subsequently shifted to hospital for treatment.
