Pulwama: With the culmination of the second phase of District Development Council polls in Jammu and Kashmir, the Shadimarg constituency of Pulwama district in south Kashmir witnessed 1.36 poll percentage.
Out of 23, 668 votes, the total votes polled in the DDC constituency are 322 amounting to 1.36% and lowest in the district.
The district’s Rajpora recorded 4 votes, Bellow 12, Gulshanabad 3, Tiken Batpora 4, Haal 10, Kalampora 25, Arigam 64, Bonura Bandzoo 33 and Chatripora Dursoo 167.
Besides the lowest percentage, areas including Nikas-Aarabal, Chandpora and Hanjan Bala reported zero per cent voting.
Earlier, officials informed that 40.31 % poll percentage was recorded across different constituencies spread over all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir till 1:00 pm.
As per the figures given by the office of State Election Commissioner, in Kashmir Division, Kupwara has recorded a voting percentage of 34.44%, Bandipora 60.99%, Baramulla 24.69%, Ganderbal 39.05%, Srinagar 28.41%, Budgam 37.72%, Pulwama 6.96 %, Shopian 13.08%, Kulgam 24.34% and Anantnag 28.13% till 01:00 pm.
Similarly, in Jammu division, Kishtwar has recorded voting percentage of 50.47%, Doda 55.82%, Ramban 57.31%, Reasi 53.67%, Udhampur 45.31%, Kathua 50.71%, Samba 57.42%, Jammu 61.10 %, Rajouri 53.27% and Poonch 59.90% till 01:00 pm.
Officials added that Kashmir division recorded an overall polling percentage of 27.84% while as Jammu recorded 54.10% up to 1:00 pm.
Pertinently, 43 constituencies are going under polling in the second phase of DDC elections including 25 constituencies in Kashmir division and 18 in Jammu.
Meanwhile, the internet services in Pulwama and Shopian have been snapped reportedly due to the elections process.
