Elderly man injured in leopard attack in north Kashmir’s Baramulla

Tangmarg: An elderly man was injured after a leopard attacked him in Marispora area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday morning triggering panic in the entire vicinity.

Locals told a news agency Kashmir Dot Com that a leopard was spotted in a cowshed of Abdul Aziz Lone at Marispora and later injured an elderly man identified as Mohammad Ramzan Ganie of the same village.

They said the injured person was soon evacuated to a nearby hospital for treatment.

As per the report, Marispora residents alleged that the wildlife department was conveyed earlier about the presence of wild animals, however, they showed non-seriousness about the matter.

The residents have now appealed the Wildlife Department to capture the leopard as soon as possible in order to prevent any further attack.

Meanwhile, an official from the Wildlife department said that teams are on the spot and the wild animal currently inside the cowshed will be captured very soon.
