Ammunition recovered from hideout in Awantipora, LeT militant associate arrested: Police

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police on Sunday claimed to have busted a militant hideout in Chandhara Pampore area of south Kashmir.

In a statement, police said: “Based on credible input regarding presence of militants affiliated with LeT in a hideout constructed in a particular house in village Chandhara Pampore, Awantipora Police along with 50 RR and 110 Bn CRPF launched a search operation on Sunday early morning.”

During search one large hideout of LeT outfit was found in the cowshed and was destroyed subsequently, the statement mentioned.

“One militant associate identified as Adil Ahmad Shah resident of Chandhara Pampore of LeT was also arrested,” police said, adding incriminating material and cache of ammunition including 26 round of AK-47 were recovered from the busted hideout.

I this regard, police said that case FIR No 04/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pampore.
