Religious seminary, residential house damaged in fire incident in Budgam

Budgam: A religious seminary was completely damaged in an overnight blaze in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

An official said that fire broke out in Darul Uloom Syed Hafsa Islamiya Galwanpora at Hyderpora during the intervening night of Thursday-Friday. Twenty students who were staying in the religious seminary were immediately evacuated to safer places, he said.

In another incident at Kandhama Magam area of the district, a residential house belonging to Mohammad Rafiq Matoo, son of Ghulam Mohammad Matoo was gutted in the mishap.

The cause of fire at both the places was not immediately known, however, police have taken the cognizance of the incidents.
