Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday said that Ansaar Gazwatul Hind chief has been killed in an ongoing military operation in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kashmir range, Vijay Kumar said that AGuH chief has been killed in Tral operation. In a tweet, IGP congratulated armed forces for successful operation. ‘Search operation going on’, the tweet read.
The AGH Commander has been identified as Imtiyaz Shah and the other slain militant Younis Khanday, both residents of RatSuna Tral. Official sources said that an AK 47 rifle and pistol was also recovered from the operation site.
Tral operation is second in the past 24 hours as the operation is also underway in Mohalla area of Shopian since yesterday evening.
In Shopian gunfight, five militants have been killed so far and the operation is going on.
