Burglars loot eight shops in central Kashmir’s Kangan

Ganderbal: At least eight shops were looted by burglars in Kangan market of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

An official said that burglars have looted at least eight shops and have decamped with cash and other valuable items.

The incident has created resentment among the local population. “We are really concerned over such incidents and demand stern punishment for the culprits,” said a local adding that all such incidents often happen in the area.

Meanwhile, a police official said they are ascertaining the facts and a case under relevant sections of law has been registered while further investigation was going on. He, however, said that details of property stolen has not been ascertained yet.

Meanwhile, district Police Ganderbal has sought the help of the general public to identify suspected burglars wanted by the Police Station Kangan in burglary of multiple shops at Kangan market.

During the course of the investigation, Police have collected the CCTV footage regarding the incident and obtained photographs of the suspect.
