Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday witnessed 51 deaths due to COVID pandemic and 3,733 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, taking the number of total active cases to 34567.
With 51 more deaths, the highest since the pandemic outbreak, the death toll in JK has reached 2,421 and the active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day.
3,733 fresh positive cases reported on Saturday pushed the tally of positive cases to 187,219. Among 3,733 new cases, 2,439 belong to Kashmir while 1,294 are from Jammu.
The total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached 114,020 including 90,336 recoveries and 1,440 deaths while as a total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 73,199 including 59,895 recoveries and 981 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 34,567 including 22,244 from Kashmir division and 12,323 from Jammu division.
With 1,536 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 150,231 which is 80.24 percent of the total cases.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,830,792 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 94,844 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 34,567 persons are in isolation.
