FIR registered against 5 for ‘organisaing cricket match’, ‘gathering crowd’ in Pulwama

Pulwama: A case has been registered against five men for allegedly violating COVID guidelines by organising a cricket match in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said on Saturday.

The case was registered at Rajpora Police Station on Sunday after a video of the cricket match surfaced on social media platforms, they said.

The five organisers were booked under FIR number 78/2021 US 188, 269 at Police station Rajpora Pulwama, officials added.

The cricketers, according to officials, were booked for violating the COVID norms as the cricket match played between Pulwama Gladers and Rajpora 11 at Musalmarg cricket ground Pulwama, had brought a large crowd.

Meanwhile, Tehsildar Rajpora Rakib Ahmed told Free Press Kashmir that activities at the said playground has been stopped and four persons have been arrested in this regard.
