Civilian injured after ‘unidentified gunmen’ open fire at police party in Sopore

Sopore: A civilian was injured after unidentified gunmen opened fire on a police party in main chowk Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.

Official sources said that the civilian was injured after unidentified gunmen hurled a grenade and resorted to firing on the police party in Sopore’s main chowk.

They added that the injured civilian was immediately rushed to a nearby health facility for treatment.

Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off and searches are going on to nab the attackers, the officials said.
