Srinagar: Kardeşler – The Kashmir Café, a new themed restaurant based on a popular TV series – Diriliş: Ertuğrul or Resurrection: Ertuğrul – opens in Srinagar.
The drama series is hugely popular worldwide having been broadcasted in at least 72 countries and dubbed in more than 6 languages.
The restaurant is located in heart of downtown Srinagar, Kashmir. Kardeşler’s interior is styled around Diriliş: Ertuğrul hosting various artifacts and designs shown in the drama series. Kardeşler, probably one of the first restaurants in the world fully-styled around Ertuğrul drama series, serves Middle Eastern, Turkish, Indian Mughlai cuisine among others.
“High moral and ethical values are an intrinsic part of Diriliş: Ertuğrul series which resonate with the Kashmiri audience, a reason why the series is popular in Kashmir”, says Shadab, the founder of Kardeşler – The Kashmir Café.
“Kashmir has a thriving cafe and restaurant culture with a lot of innovative and creative theme-based cafes been launched in recent past. Considering the massive popularity of Diriliş: Ertuğrul across the world and in Kashmir too, it was only time before someone in Kashmir would adopt it as a theme for restaurant or cafe. In this case, it just happens to be us”, Kardeşler’s management said.
“Even though we are a theme-based restaurant, we don’t want to entirely depend on that to attract the customers. We want Kardeşler to be known for serving top-quality food at reasonable prices. So far, it seems like we are succeeding at that considering the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received from everyone”, said Shadab.
Due to the COVID restrictions, the café is open only for home delivery and delivers across Srinagar. “People place orders over phone or via Gatoes food delivery app and it is delivered to their doorstep”, the restaurateur says.
