Admin orders COVID vaccination drive in Darulalooms, Ashrams, other religious institutions on ‘war footing’ basis

Srinagar: Authorities on Friday ordered COVID vaccination drive on a “war footing” basis in Darulalooms, orphanages, Asharams, Gurduwaras, Churches, and Juvenile Homes in the Kashmir division.

“In order to take further measures for containment of possible resurgence of Covid-19 cases (3rd Wave), a need has been felt to carry-out vaccination drive in Darulalooms, Orphanages, Asharams, Gurduwaras, Churches & Juvinile homes in Kashmir Division, so that the staff, as well as students in these religious institutions, can be vaccinated well in time,” Director Health services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather said in a Circular.

“Therefore, it is impressed upon all the Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents and Block Medical Officers to carry out vaccination drive upon the staff/eligible students working in all the religious institutions fall in their respective districts on war footing basis so that the staff/eligible students are kept away from the possible 3rd wave variants,” the circular adds.
