Armed forces, their families and Defence Civilian employees rally with ‘victory flame’ in Kashmir

Srinagar: A rally by the name of “Swarnim Vijay Varsh victory flame” was held in Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar Kashmir on Thursday. Armed forces personnel, their families, school children, teachers, and Defence Civilian employees participated in the event.

According to an official handout, the rally, held in memory of India’s win over Pakistan in the 1971 war, entered Badami Bagh Cantonment from Somnath Dwar on July 12, and thereafter; the rally was taken out, on Gupkar Road and NH-44.

Around 100 volunteers from White Globe Organisation and Kashmir Road Safety Organisation participated in the rally on Gupkar Road.

As part of the rally, the Indian flag was also unfurled at Gupkar Chowk by Corporators of Srinagar Municipal Corporation.  Later in the day, the flame was carried atop the Hari Parbat Fort.

Earlier, four flames were lit by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi at National War Memorial on December 16, 2020, which were sent to four cardinal directions.
