Srinagar: A civilian and an armed forces personnel were injured after suspected militants attacked a police party near Sheeraz Cinema in Khanyar area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.
Official sources said that a civilian and Jammu and Kashmir police personnel were injured after militants opened fire on them on Tuesday evening.
The duo sustained bullet injuries and was shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment.
The civilian has been identified as Ishtiyak Ahmed from Nowshera Srinagar who was shifted to JLNM Hospital Rainawari where doctors referred him to Bone and Joint Hospital Srinagar and the cop has been identified as Abdul Waheed posted at police station Khanyar.
Meanwhile, armed forces have cordoned off the area and searches are going on.
