Jammu: As armed forces continue massive search operations in the woods of Thanmandi in Rajouri district for the fourth day, the operations have been launched in Poonch and Samba districts on Monday.
Official sources said that BSF, Army’s Rashtriya Rifles, and Special Operation Group (SOG) of police launched a massive cordon and search operation in many villages of Mendhar in Poonch district and house to house searches are being conducted.
Searches were also carried out in Maheshwar area of Samba after the “movement of suspicious persons was captured on CCTV,” the officials said.
Earlier, two militants were killed in the woods of Thanmandi and since then searches are going on in its adjacent areas.
Meanwhile, as per a news agency Global News Service report, a family from south Kashmir’s Shopian has approached the police officials, claiming that one of the slain was their kin.
