Rajouri: An army officer was killed while another armed forces personnel was injured in the ongoing military operation against militants in Thanamandi area of Rajouri district on Thursday.
An army spokesperson told Kashmir News Observer that during the operation in Thanamandi area of Rajouri, one JCO of Rashtriya Rifles suffered bullet injuries.
“The JCO was immediately evacuated to a nearest medical facility but later succumbed to his injuries,” he said.
The operation began after a joint team of armed forces launched a search operation in Karyote Kalas following reports of suspicious movement in the area. The official said that more reinforcement has been rushed to the spot.
