Srinagar: Preparations for the midnight burial of veteran Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani are underway. As per reports, a grave is being dug up near the Srinagar residence of Geelani in Hyderpora.
The IGP while speaking to the press at the spot has said that only the relatives of Geelani will be allowed to attend the funeral.
People are not being allowed to move towards the residence.
Restrictions have been imposed and mobile internet has been shut down across Kashmir.
The IGP has said that the restrictions have been imposed in view of the death of Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
Syed Ali Shah Geelani, a top Hurriyat leader passed away at 10:30 pm at his home in Hyderpora Srinagar. He was 92 and had been under house arrest.
