Militant killed in Shopian military operation, says police

Shopian: A militant has been killed in a military operation between armed forces personnel and militants in Feripora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district, as per police.

Quoting a senior police officer, the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reported that a militant has been killed whose identification is being ascertained while the operation is on in the area.

Earlier, an official told KNO that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

Pertinently, two alleged militants were killed in Anantnag and Bandipora on Monday while as 4 armed forces personnel were killed in a military operation in the forests of Poonch.

Earier today, 3 militants were killed in a military operation in Shopian, as per police.
