Hate speech: Randhawa booked after Islamophobic ‘skin them alive’ statement

The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tuesday removed party leader and former MLC Vikram Randhawa from all party posts.

Randhawa, as per the order issued by BJP’s J-K president Ravinder Raina, has been relieved from all the posts including that of J-K BJP Secretary post, with immediate effect.

“Vikram Randhawa (Former MLC) is relieved from all party posts/responsibilities including the post of BJP JK-UT secretary post with immediate effect,” the order reads.

Randhawa has been removed days after he made a hate speech against Kashmiris.

He had said those Kashmiris who celebrated Pakistan’s victory over India in the ongoing world cup should be skinned alive. He had also said that their citizenship should be revoked.

Police has also registered a First Information Report (FIR) for hurting religious sentiments.

The case FIR No. 357 of 2021 has been registered at Trikuta Nagar Police Station.

The Sections invoked against Randhawa include 295-A and 505 (2) Indian Penal Code.

A video of Randhawa has gone viral on Social Media on the basis of which Police have booked him.
