Sopore: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a militant along with his associate in north Kashmir’s Sopore.
Acting on specific input regarding the presence of militants in Ningli area of Sopore, a cordon and search operation was launched by Police, 52RR and 177Bn CRPF in the said area, police said in a statement.
The statement said that during the search operation militant and his associate were apprehended by the joint armed forces party.
“The active militant has been identified as Towfeeq Kaboo, son of Ghulam Rasool Kaboo, a resident of Kaboo Mohalla Arampora Sopore while as a militant associate has been identified as Bilal Ahmad Kaloo, son of Abdul Rahman Kaloo, a resident of Takiabal Sopore,” it said.
In this regard, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been taken up, the statement concludes.
