Poonch: A Pakistani militant has been killed by the armed forces in the ongoing military operation near Bufliyaz in Surankote area of Poonch district on Tuesday.
Officials said that the slain militant has been identified as Abu Zarara who is reportedly affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba and was considered as a ‘wanted’ militant by the armed forces.
They said that the slain militant was operating in Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The area where the operation is going on is dense forest cover area and more reinforcement have been rushed to tighten the cordon as there is a possibility of the presence of one more militant in the area,” the officials said.
He added, “From the slain militant one AK 47 riffle, 4 magazines, one grenade, biscuit packets, and some Indian currency was recovered”. (KNO)
