Anantnag: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla on Monday issued prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC prohibiting employees associated with essential services water supply, electricity supply and its maintenance, food, civil supplies, etc from calling any hartal or strike in the district.
The DC said that they shall ensure that essential services are maintained/provided uninterruptedly.
He said that all essential services are functioning normally in the district with only minor disruptions. He met the senior functionaries from KPDCL and other essential services.
Inspections were also carried out at various grid stations, receiving stations, and feeders by concerned magistrates to ensure uninterrupted supply.
The DC has appealed to the functionaries from essential services to carry out their legitimate duties and not to observe any strike.
He said their demands have been forwarded to the administrative department for further action.
He further said that students from various ITIs and Polytechnic colleges have been kept on standby to meet any eventuality.
